There are NO PETS and NO ALCOHOL allowed in the campgrounds. Have your equipment with you and be ready to camp when you register. Make and license plates of all vehicles must be provided at registration. The Voorhees State Park Office is currently CLOSED. You must stop in at the Spruce Run Recreation Area office and register for your site upon arrival. If you arrive after office hours you must check in the following morning by 9:00am. OCCUPANCY -Limited to 6 individuals per campsite. Only 2 vehicles permitted on any campsite. Extra vehicles will be required to park in a designated area (additional fees will apply). AGE REGULATIONS -Campsites must be registered and occupied by a responsible person 18 years of age or older. QUIET HOURS -From 10 p.m. until 6 a.m., and are strictly enforced. Violators of this policy may be evicted. GENERATORS -May be used except during quiet hours. If the use of a generator is deemed unreasonably loud by the facility staff then individual use of a generator may be prohibited/limited. FIRES -Must be built in fire rings provided. Only dead and down wood may be used for fuel. No chainsaws are allowed in campgrounds, and cutting down trees, alive or dead is prohibited. There are bear in the area. Please keep a clean campsite. Use dumpsters located in campgrounds and do not leave food out. Additional parking for registered campers and their guests is available in the campground for an additional fee. |

In 1965, the New Jersey Astronomical Association built an observatory on land leased from the state. The 26-inch Newtonian reflector telescope is one of the largest privately owned telescopes in New Jersey. The public is invited to explore the night sky at skywatching programs that are offered year round by the NJAA. For further information, visit www.njaa.org . For campers we offer 47 tent and trailer sites and three shelters with fire rings and picnic tables. We also offer two group camp sites with 50 person capacity each. Composting restrooms and showers are within walking distance. Trailer sanitary station is open April 1 through October 31. Voorhees has 7 trails that are suitable for a wide range of abilities and interests. All trails in the park are multi-use except the Cross Park Trail and the Parcourse Circuit, which are footpaths only. The trails range from wide and graveled to rocky and steep in places; the parcourse is accessible for people with disabilities. Several picnic areas with table and grills are located throughout the park. For larger groups, we also offer three reservable picnic areas with shelters. Area A and Area B can accommodate 100 people each. Area C can accommodate 75 people. They may be reserved for a fee.Please call the park office for availability and reservations (908)638-8572. Hunting is permitted in designated areas within the park and is subject to Division of Fish and Wildlife regulations. |
